Classics

Classics are books appreciated by generations over a period of time. They have universal appeal.
The messages and characters retain freshness and are loved and treasured.
These books are read and re-read many times over. Books categorized under the classics may be given higher literary status.
The texts highlight experiences and lifestyles from other times. They reveal the cultural expectations of the time in which they are set.
Picture

“Until a book has weathered at least one generation and is accepted in the next,
it can hardly be given the rank of a classic”
Alice M. Jordan (1947).
