Meet with members of your class who read the same book as yourself.
Discuss the following questions:
- Did you enjoy the book? Why? Why not?
- What did you think the book was about?
- How realistic was the characterisation? Would you want to meet any of the characters? Did you like them? Hate them?
- How did you experience the book? Were you engaged immediately, or did it take you a while to "get into it"? How did you feel reading it—amused,
sad, disturbed, confused, bored...? - Would you recommend this book to other readers? To your close friend?
Write a brief Book Review on the book you've read and put it on your Weebly page:
- Capture your reader’s interest in the first sentence. The following sentences should give an overall picture of what the book is about.
- The next paragraph should focus on particular aspects of the book—interesting characters, the structure, the style or themes and messages.
- The third paragraph should not give away the ending, but you can give a personal opinion as to whether you consider
the book had a satisfying conclusion or whether the author deliberately
left the reader to “finish the story.” - What aspects of the book appealed to you and what age group would you recommend it to?
- Punctuation and grammar are essential. Use paragraphs, good sentence structure and correct spelling. Get someone to check it before you publish!
- Include a photo of your book! Don’t break copyright.
