Young Writer's Initiative at the Fremantle Literature Centre
Facilitated by authors James Roy and Sally Murphy, a group of Iona girls attended the Young Writers Day and Youth Literature Day at the Fremantle Literature Centre in Term 1.. Their task was to write about a place special to them in Western Australia. The girls wrote a first draft, pair edited and then wrote a second ‘good’ copy - all in only 50 minutes.
The Fremantle Literature Centre will also be displaying selected pieces of our girls work in their exhibition booth at the Perth Cultural Centre on June 1st (10 am – 4 pm) as part of the ‘Come Out and Play Day’. Below are copies of the original stories written by out students - a great effort for only 50 minutes! |
