The declaration is a thrilling dystopian novel, which follows two young kids who were illegally born; and they journey to escape from the government and grange hall. I loved the book as it had a different take on what the future could hold for us. Gemma Malley, the author shows a different perspective on the future society, with people living forever with limited resources this means new life can't be brought into the world. Is this the kind of place you want to live in?
The declaration is a very intriguing and unique story, it has a very interesting plot and keeps the reader interested in what is happening in the way the story is explained. As the story continues new matters come upon the characters which helps the reader understand more about those particular characters and helps to view more about the lifestyle and setting of the novel. Most characters were explained through what had happened in there past and the whole story goes through an adventure of these individuals trying to bring closure to their lives. This novel is very sensitive to the topic of relationships and explained what caused conflicts and also what solved them. The story does keep you guessing and keeps you on your toes to always want to know what is going to happen next. I really enjoyed reading this book and overall i though that this book pulled you in and kept you turning the pages always wanting to know what was going to happen next. Overall I would give this book a rating of 8/10.
The Declaration by Gemma Malley
'The Declaration', written by Gemma Malley is an exciting, dystopian novel about a girl living in a world where medical inventions allow people to live forever. Because people can live forever there are limited resources left in the world, which means no more children are allowed to be born. Anna, an illegally born child known as a surplus is shown what the real world outside of her prison of a home, Grange Hall by a surplus by the name of Peter.
I really enjoyed reading 'The Declaration' because it was a fast paced story with many thrills and unexpected turns.I really enjoyed how throughout the story the point of view switched and the author held you in suspense by changing the point of view every time something interesting would happen to keep you in suspense. I simply could not stop reading it!
The Declaration is a dystopian novel, normally i don't chose that genre of books and to be honest I really did not enjoy reading this story.
Even though I really enjoyed the adventure about two young teenagers trying to escape the horrible grunge hall and the government. Gemma Malley gave the readers an insight to a totally different future than what we would of imagined and by making the future so disturbing it kept you intrigued. Overall i give the book 6/10 but I would not read it again
I really enjoyed this book and found it really compelling and an easy read. This book was hard to put down. However i did fid this book hard to get into in the first couple of chapters, as it is dystopian explaining is key and i don't think there was enough explanation in the first chapter, but the more you read the more the story line made sense. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy dystopian fiction.
The Declaration was for me a definite page turner. Right from the beginning I was truly captivated by the sort of life the characters led and how they were able to overcome the many challenges provided throughout the novel. I would strongly recommend this novel to anyone who is loves a novel full of action, adventure and romance.
Great reviews girls! Has anyone read the next in the trilogy? I've always wondered what happened to the tow main characters.
