I felt that don't call me Ismael is a very hilarious book. It shows how bulling can effect how someone behaves. When Barry (the school bully) teases Ishmael about his name, Ishmael is so intimidated by his name-calling that he decides to camouflage into the rest of the school trying to make as little contact with anyone else as possible. I really enjoyed this book because there are so many embarrassing and awkward moments. Ishmael hates his name and is angry at his parents for giving him the years of embarrassment in a two minute decision. His parents read and studied the book; Moby Dick which is where the name came from. Ishmael's father loves telling the story of how Ishmael got his name and Ishmael hates listening to it! Ishmael discovers that in the end, it doesn't matter how you are named, it's your personality that counts.

Don't call me Ishmael is hilarious, and constantly keeping you interested and wanting to read more. I found it hard trying to put the book down. The book is about a young boy in his second year of high school, who becomes a victim of a bully. But when the new boy comes along he shows the bully up and stands up for Ishmael, Ishmael thinks this new kind is so cool but is super shy and does not understand why he is helping him.

Don't Call Me Ishmael is about a 14 year ld boy who blames all of his problems on his disease, but this is no ordinary disease, It's Ishmael Disease.

I found that 'Don't Call Me Ishmael' was a very funny and family orientated book. I enjoyed all the different aspects and loved how the story built and built. I enjoyed how the author gradually showed how his 'DISEASE' was going. I enjoyed all of the quotes and loved how it related to Moby Dick.

Don't call me Ishmael is a book about a 14 year old boy in year 9 named Ishmael who gets bullied. I found that this book was really good and it made a reference to Moby-Dick, from Ishmael's teacher, but it just makes the bullies tease Ishmael more.

Hi,
The book i have read is called Don't call me Ishmael. This book is a really good book, it is about a hight school boy called Ishmael who thinks he has a disease called "The Ishmael disease", (but really he doesn't.) Ishmael is a very quiet kid, he tries to almost be invisible to every one, he is bullied a lot because of his name by this other kid in his class called Barry. A little more into the book a new kid comes into their class room and he becomes an inspiration to Ishmael, they become best friends and he learns a lot from him. What I enjoyed about this book is the fact that he has a friend, after everything he had been through.

I would Definitely recommend it to everyone to enjoy.
